Also, it should be fastened properly to allow for slight movement such as expansion and contraction as the temperature changes. If it is tightly attached, it may warp or buckle.

Clear skies make Missouri a beautiful place to call home, but they also present another challenge for siding. Long-term exposure to UV rays can create sun damage, which is why a lot of traditional siding, like vinyl, quickly becomes faded. Although this is not a problem resulting from improper installation, when not given attention, not only does it ruin the appearance of the siding, but it may also lead to more serious problems such as cracking.

When siding is installed incorrectly, it can create irritating noises when it contracts or expands as the temperature changes or during windy days, like ours in Missouri. Loose coatings should be repaired immediately, not only because of the sound, but because they can fly and cause an accident.

Another common siding problem faced by Missouri’s homeowners is an ongoing battle with energy efficiency. Traditional siding options, like stone, vinyl, wood, and aluminum, often have relatively weak insulation, which means heating and cooling the home requires an enormous amount of energy (and money!).
